This simple recipe layers creamy peanut butter, banana slices, brown sugar and cinnamon over top toasted whole grain bread. It's a delicious breakfast made for all. Much like our strawberry toast, this breakfast recipe requires very little preparation and is ready to eat in just a few minutes.

Ingredients

This simple recipe for peanut butter toast uses whole grain bread, all natural creamy peanut butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. It's sprinkled with a little bit of powdered sugar to complete the look and taste.

But there are so many variations of peanut butter toast so you have a lot of options to choose from. For the base, choose a healthy whole grain bread and your favorite nut butter. I love this peanut butter, but almond butter and cashew butter taste great here too. Then along with banana slices, load up on other toppings that you love. I have many recommendations down below.

Step-By-Step Instructions

  1. Toast 2 slices whole grain bread to your desired toastedness.
  2. Spread half of the peanut butter on each slice of toast. Top with banana slices. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar and ground cinnamon over top. Finish with a pinch of powdered sugar if desired.

How To Make Toast Fun For The Kids!

Get the kids in on making their peanut butter toast by putting out a few toppings and letting them put their own toast together. Feeding kids can be challenging, so letting them feel like their making their own choices can prevent a lot of fighting about what to eat.

I even let my kids slice their bananas, with a kid-safe knife of course. While this doesn't seem like a big deal for parents, it really makes little ones feel in control and important. Plus it gets them used to helping cook and before you know it they'll be asking to help!
