We love refreshing mint desserts and Oreo Mint Milkshakes are one of new favorites (along with our no-bake Oreo cheesecake bars!). This yummy treat is made by mixing vanilla ice cream, mint extract, mint Oreos and milk in your blender. It's a simple way to enjoy a refreshing dessert, and one that kids can help make.
While this recipe is made in any kitchen blender, you can use a milkshake maker, such as the Ninja Creami, to make a perfectly blended Oreo mint milkshake (and all other flavors, like a peach, coffee or cheesecake milkshake).

Tips from the Chef
Making this milkshake in the summer when you have fresh mint to harvest? Add a handful of fresh mint leaves to the blender! We do this when we make strawberry smoothies.

Instructions
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 seconds increments until smooth. Holding the milkshake glasses upside down, dip into the melted chocolate. Alternatively, use a spatula to spread the chocolate around the rim of each glass. Let harden before blending the milkshake ingredients.
- Once the chocolate has hardened add the vanilla ice cream, whole milk, mint extract, mint Oreos and green food coloring to a blender. Blend for 30-60 seconds on high speed. Pour the blended shake into the chocolate-rimmed glasses.
- Add whipped cream, an Oreo, and Oreo crumbs to the top if desired.
Toppings for Oreo Mint Milkshakes

- Maraschino cherries

Recipe FAQs
Yes, you can use regular chocolate Oreos but the peppermint flavor won't be as strong. If you want the full peppermint flavor, use a little more mint extract.
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave or in a pot on the stove. Then you can dip the top of the glasses directly into the melted chocolate or use a spatula to spread it around the rim.
Milkshakes are best enjoyed immediately after making. Storing leftovers is not recommended.
