If you're looking for an easy fun Easter dessert recipe that involves no baking and not a lot of time, then Candy Coated Easter Strawberries are for you! Turn your strawberries into carrots using candy melts and orange food coloring. They are great to leave out as Easter Bunny treats for that hard working, up-all-night bunny!

We are not big on a fancy Easter dinner, in fact we often joke about how boring Easter dinner food can be. For us itโs about the dessert.
Today we made this fun Easter dessert by covering juicy strawberries in orange colored candy melts so they look like carrots.
These candy "carrots" are a healthy-ish, cute and fun Easter dessert for the kids and adults. They make a lovely addition to the dessert table, along with Easter egg hunt pudding cups, no-bake cheesecake bunny tails, and mini egg rice krispie treats!
Ingredients
You only need 3 ingredients to make your candy covered strawberry carrots.
- fresh strawberries
- white candy melts + orange food coloring
- crushed Oreos (optional)
Instead of the candy melts and food coloring you can use orange candy melts or white chocolate chips and orange food coloring.
Step-By-Step Directions
Strawberry carrots take no more than 15 minutes, if that, to make.
Here are the steps:
STEP 1: Start by rinsing your strawberries. Pat dry with a paper towel.
STEP 2: Heat your candy melts in the microwave in 30 seconds intervals until melted.
STEP 3: Add the food coloring and stir. You can add more if you want a deeper orange color.
STEP 4: Dip each strawberry in the melted candy and place it on a plate to harden. To speed up the process, you can place the strawberries in the fridge for 15 minutes.
If you wish you can serve them on a plate with the crushed Oreos to make them look like a carrot patch. Enjoy!
Tips
- Choose strawberries that are long and narrow or gradually get fatter at the tops so they look like real carrots.
- Choose strawberries with plentiful green stems.
- Reheat the candy melt if it begins to harden before you finish covering all strawberries.
