Easter Dirt Cups are a tasty and incredibly easy Easter dessert made in only 10 minutes with 4 simple ingredients. There is no cooking, chopping or cutting and virtually no mess to clean up! Kids will love how cute and fun these chocolate dirt cups are to eat and you will love just how much of an easy Easter dessert they are!

These Easter Dirt Cups are made with lots of chocolate pudding, a layer of green sweet coconut grass and hidden jelly bean eggs, plus a colorful Peep bunny who's doing all the hiding!
We love making fun Easter desserts like chocolate covered strawberry carrots, coconut bunny tails and an Easter candy charcuterie board. My family is not big on a fancy Easter dinner. For us it’s about the desserts, and now with lots of children at the table, we have good reason to make fun a little too many bunny, egg and chick themed treats.
All ingredients are premade, so that means we're simply opening packages and throwing together a cute little Easter egg hunt pudding cup- but the kids know them as those "Easter Bunny dirt cups with the pudding".
If you want to make a homemade pudding, try my chocolate almond milk pudding. It's delicious!
Ingredients
- Shredded coconut: used as the grass on top of the dirt. Use sweetened for the best flavor.
- Green food coloring: to dye the coconut grass.
- Chocolate pudding: use store bought pudding to make it really easy or homemade chocolate pudding.
- Jelly beans: use an assortment of small and large colorful jelly beans to look like eggs hiding in grass.
- Peeps: a bunny Peep is placed in each cup to make it look like an Easter egg hunt.
You'll also need 4-ounce clear cups, preferably plastic. White cups also are okay but the kids won't see the dirt until they start digging in!
Instructions
Making this super easy Easter dessert takes less than 10 minutes and can be made with the kid for some holiday baking fun (or without as a surprise!). The most time consuming part of making Easter dirt cups is dying the shredded coconut and still that only takes about 3 minutes.
STEP 1: Dye the shredded coconut green using food coloring. Place the coconut in a large glass mixing bowl and add food coloring about 1 teaspoon at a time. Mix with a wooden spoon until the coconut is completely green. Add more food coloring as you see fit to make it as dark as you'd like. I use gel food coloring or liquid coloring and they both work here.
STEP 2: Make the chocolate pudding cups- the funnest part! Fill each 4-ounce cup with chocolate pudding, leaving about ¼ inch for the coconut grass. Add a layer of green coconut shreds to the top of the pudding.
STEP 3: Place one bunny peep into the coconut, pressing it down into the pudding so that it stands straight. Scatter jelly beans throughout the coconut and sprinkle some more coconut on top so the eggs are slightly hidden.
Now your Easter dirt cups are made. Enjoy!
