Pepperoni Toast makes a delicious, simple and quick meal for lunch or dinner and is equally as good as a snack. Our family could eat this everyday!

Melted cheese, crispy pepperoni and flavorful sauce come together to make this quick and easy pepperoni toast. It's practically like eating a pizza, only it comes together faster and is on a slice of toasted bread instead of a big crusty pizza dough. It's another option for us to enjoy our favorite food - pizza! We also love meatball toast for a slightly different version.

Ingredients

Bread: any type of sandwich bread will work, from Italian bread to whole wheat bread (our favorite), white bread, etc.

Pepperoni: any size and any brand. We love classic Hormel pepperoni.

Pizza sauce: if you don't have pizza sauce, marinara sauce or spaghetti sauce work.

Cheese: shredded mozzarella cheese or pizza blend cheese are the best.

Tips from the Chef

  • Toast the bread before adding the toppings. This will keep the bread crispy after toasting again with the toppings on.
  • I like to broil our pepperoni toast the second time, as it really crisps up the bread and melts the cheese.

Instructions

  1. Toast the sandwich bread to desired doneness. Remove from the toaster.
  2. Spread each toasted bread slice with pizza sauce, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and top with sliced pepperoni.
  3. Toast or broil until cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
