We cook frozen pizza in the air fryer at least twice a week, so we're well versed in how to get the perfect crispy crust pizza ready to eat in no time at all. We love how quick and easy frozen foods are to prepare in the air fryer. From frozen chicken nuggets to fish sticks and onion rings, we use our air fryer at least once a day for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
You can cook mini pizza, a rectangular style pizza like Ellios, a personal sized pizza and even a traditional 12-16 inch pizza depending on the size and type of air fryer you own. A mini pizza takes about 5 minutes to air fry while a large pizza can take up to 15 minutes. Still, this is much quicker than when baking in the oven.
Keep in mind, air fryers of different brands have varying power and convection levels so timing is a guide for you to follow until getting to know your air fryer. Basket style air fryers typically cook foods quicker while oven style air fryers take a bit longer. The first time you use your air fryer to cook a frozen pizza, keep a close eye on it to avoid overcooking or burning.
You can also use your air fryer to cook a french bread pizza, pepperoni pizza sliders and tortilla pizzas. And if you love pizza as much as us, turn your pepperoni pizza into a delicious cheesy tater tot casserole!
Ingredients
The only ingredient you need is your frozen pizza of choice. A mini pizza, personal pizza or traditional 12-16 inch pizza with your favorite toppings. You can also use cauliflower crust pizza or a rectangular-style Ellios type pizza, the choice is yours.
Step-By-Step-Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400℉/206℃. If your air fryer does not require preheating, skip this step.
- Place the frozen pizza in the air fryer basket or on the wire rack of your oven style air fryer. Air fry for 5-15 minutes (depending on size and thickness of pizza), until the cheese just begins to turn golden brown.
- Remove the pizza using a spatula. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing with a pizza cutter and serving.
Recipe FAQs
I suggest the air fryer setting because it has a higher convection level than the bake setting, which means less cook time. You can use the bake setting if you'd prefer, but at a higher temperature of 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Or, use the bake setting at 400 degrees Fahrenheit and expect a longer cooking time.
Depending on the size of your air fryer, you can fit a 2-4 mini pizzas, a couple personal size pizzas or a 10-16 inch pizza.
If your air fryer has a reheat setting, use this for 5-7 minutes to reheat your pizza. If it does not have a reheat setting, set the temperature to 260 degrees Fahrenheit and air fry for 5-7 minutes, until heated through.
Wrap leftover pizza in foil and keep in the fridge for around 2 days. Reheat in the microwave or using the reheat setting on your air fryer. Leftover frozen pizza should not be refrozen.
