This delicious Nutella Dessert Pizza is an easy and fun dessert recipe that will impress your family. It's full of flavor from creamy hazelnut Nutella, nutty almonds, sweet strawberries or citrusy oranges, and of course sugar! It's simple, with only a few basic ingredients, yet packed with incredible flavor.
This Nutella dessert pizza is a fantastic, quick and easy dessert recipe that kids and adults both love. My kids and their friends devoured it and asked for more! A fabulous dessert pizza is hard to resist. It's super easy to prepare and can be made with your favorite fruit, like orange, strawberry, banana, blueberry, and more.
This recipe for a fruity Nutella dessert pizza was created by my little 5 year old who doesn't like chocolate but loves Nutella, oranges, and crescent rolls. So she came up with this sweet idea for combining them all.
We also love Nutella and strawberry stuffed croissants and using it to make frozen banana bites. If you love nutella as much as we do, check out nutella toast for breakfast, nutella buttercream frosting and soft nutella cookies.
Ingredients
This chocolate hazelnut pizza has just 6 simple ingredients that you can easily vary to suit your preferences. You can use your favorite fruits and nuts and use a pizza dough instead of crescent dough. It's delicious no matter what you choose!
You need:
- Crescent dough: my favorite is Pillsbury crescent sheets, but you can also use pizza dough.
- Nutella: this is a creamy chocolate hazelnut spread. You can use a plant-based version of Nutella if you'd like to make it a little healthier.
- Fruit: I use clementines often because my kids love them, but sliced strawberries, sliced banana rounds, blueberries, mango, kiwi, cranberry and raspberry are other great choices.
- Nuts: slivered or sliced almonds or walnuts are our favorites! Keep out the nuts to make it nut-free or for smaller children who may not like the crunch.
- Butter and white sugar: these are mixed with the nuts before topping the pizza
More Topping Ideas
- Sprinkle with crushed graham crackers
- Add coconut shavings
- Sprinkle on powdered sugar
- Drizzle with chocolate, strawberry, or caramel sauce after it's done baking
- Finish off with a pinch of sea salt at the end
Instructions
STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (you can also use your air fryer at the same temperature). While the oven is preheating, prepare the pizza.
STEP 2: On a baking sheet, roll out the crescent dough or pizza dough into a circle or rectangle shape (shape is completely up to you!). If your crescent dough has seams in it, press them together.
STEP 3: Spread the Nutella on the dough leaving about ½ inch of uncovered dough around the edges. Arrange the fruit evenly on top of the Nutella.
STEP 4: In a small bowl, melt the butter in 30 second increments. Add the sugar and nuts to the bowl and toss until well mixed. Sprinkle the buttered nuts on top of the fruit.
STEP 5: Bake for 9-13 minutes (if using an air fryer it may need less time), or until the dough turns a golden brown around the edges. Remove from the oven and transfer to a cutting board using a pizza peel or spatulas. Let the pizza cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
Nutella dessert pizza is delicious both warm and at room temperature. It is fantastic served with hot tea and coffee for adults and hot chocolate for the kids!
Recipe FAQs
I don't recommend using frozen fruit for this Nutella dessert pizza. Frozen fruit will expel a syrupy water as it defrosts or cooks, and this will make the pizza soggy.
Store leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Use the toaster oven or air fryer to reheat. This dessert pizza also freezes well for up to 2 months when stored in an airtight freezer safe bag. Defrost in the fridge overnight and reheat using the toaster or air fryer.
