- ⅓ cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoons butter (at room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 6 ounces milk chocolate candy melts
- 3 ounces blue candy melts
- 3 ounces green candy melts
Equipment
- semi-sphere silicone mold
- piping bags
- microwave safe bowls and a microwave
- spoon for mixing
Chef's Tip
Can't find green or blue candy melts? Use white vanilla melting candy and green/blue food coloring.
How To Make Earth Day Chocolate Balls
- In a small microwave safe bowl melt the green candy melts in 30 second intervals until the chocolate has liquified. Put the melted candy into a piping bag and cut a small hole in the tip.
- Pipe small green shapes on the inside of each semi-sphere slot of the silicone mold. Place the mold in the freezer for 5 minutes.
- In another small microwave safe bowl, melt the blue candy following the same melting instructions as above. Using a small spoon, scoop out the melted blue candy and place it in a semi-circle slot. Use the back of the spoon to spread it around the mold. Repeat this step for each slot then put the mold in the freezer for another 10 minutes.
- Melt the milk chocolate candy melts following the same instructions above. Using a clean small spoon, scoop the melted candy into the slots of the silicone mold and spread it around the mold in a layer over the blue hardened candy. Place the mold back into the freezer for 10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and room temperature butter. Mix until smooth.
- Remove the mold from the freezer. Scoop the peanut butter mixture into each semi-sphere, filling to the top and smoothing out the top with the back of the spoon. Use the remaining melted milk chocolate to cover the top of each. Put the mold back in the freezer for 10 minutes.
- Remove the mold from the freezer and flip upside down. Carefully push each mini earth out of the mold. Serve and enjoy!
