This is the BEST Philly Cheesesteak Recipe! We did a lot of searching for cheesesteaks to replicate the ones we were used to enjoying haved lived close to Philadelphia.
In a small bowl combine the chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, black pepper and salt. Thinly slice the steak (or use shaved steak) and toss the steak strips with the seasoning blend.
Preheat a pan or grill. Melt the butter on the pan. Add the steak, peppers and onions and cook until steak reaches 165℉ internally and peppers and onions are tender-crisp, about 6-7 minutes). Remove from pan.
Open roll and place on the pan with the inside down. Toast for 1-2 minutes or until crispy. Remove and layer each roll with 4 slices of provolone cheese.
Divide meat and pepper mixture between rolls and serve warm.
