This Baked Pears recipe combines our 2 favorite fall fruits: apples and pears! Roasted pears are stuffed with an easy apple oatmeal crisp topping, drizzled with butter, and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. A fun, fall snack, breakfast, or dessert that uses up those extra fresh-picked orchard apples.
Preheat the oven to 350℉. Cut the pears in half and scoop out a hole in the center of each half, removing the core and seeds. Mix ¼ cup melted butter and ⅛ cup lemon juice in a small bowl. Baste each pear with the mixture.
Sprinkle the pears with cinnamon sugar. Fill the center with diced apples.
Combine the oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and remaining ½ cup melted butter in a bowl. Toss until combined well. Place a scoop of the mixture on top of the diced apples, pressing down to adhere. Drizzle with additional melted butter if desired.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, until pears are easily pricked with a fork. Serve warm.
